Culinary Getaway: Abbaco

Autumn is maybe the best time on Mallorca. Temperatures are perfect for any kind of outdoor activity. The sea still warm but the beach resorts are slowly becoming quieter and the atmosphere more laid back. Cyclists and hikers taking over from sunbathers. A beautiful place to enjoy the autumn sun and the sea breeze is the terrace of Abbaco in Port de Pollença. Overlooking the magnificent bay while you enjoy a delicious healthy meal.

As much as I love Mediterranean cuisine, sometimes I crave for a change. The Abbaco menu reads like a best-of all worlds. From colorful salads to a nice selection of light dishes, including sushi and sashimi. We went for the corvina ceviche. Slightly spicy and with a hint of the sea it instantly brought back images from a trip to Latin America. And the poké bowl with tuna couldn’t have tasted better in Hawaii.

In any case, leave some room for dessert. Actually, we just wanted a tiny sweet with the coffee. But Christian, our most charming waiter, recommended a sensational crunchy composition of pistachio and pistachio ice cream instead. For this alone, we will surely return to Abbaco soon. And also to enjoy the lightness of autumn by the sea. Before Port de Pollença goes into hibernation in early November. Estilo Palma
